Louisville, KY – Churchill Downs hosts its first evening of night racing under the permanent lights tomorrow. The track held three night racing events last year under temporary lighting, then decided to invest four-million dollars in permanent lights. Six night racing events are scheduled for this year. Spokesperson Darren Rogers says an average of 30-thousand people attended each of those events last year.
"We had 60 to 70 walk-around vendors selling drinks, this year we're going to have as many as 100 walk-around vendors for each of the nights. We're planning for crowds equal to or larger than last year's record numbers."
Each night racing event has a theme this year, tomorrow's is Disco at the Downs. The first post time is six PM, and general admission is ten-dollars.
