Washington, D.C. – Kentucky U-S senatorial candidate Rand Paul is getting a fundraising boost from Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, who backed Paul's opponent in the primary election.
McConnell's office confirmed Thursday that the influential Kentucky senator will host the fundraiser for Paul June 24th in Washington, D.C.
McConnell had endorsed Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson, Paul's main opponent in last month's GOP primary. After the election, McConnell urged Kentucky Republicans to unite behind Paul. Paul faces Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway in the general election.
