University Budget Approved

By Chad Lampe

Murray, KY – The Murray State Board of Regents approved the University's budget during today's quarterly meeting. The $142 million budget accounts for a 1.4 percent cut in state appropriations, a five percent tuition increase, and a 1.8 million dollar increase in fixed costs. The budget does not include across the board raises for faculty and staff. The board also elected a new chairman, Dr. Constantine "Deno" Curris. Outgoing chair Alan Stout was not reappointed to the board.
