Paducah, KY – Despite not being on the agenda, complaints about policies at the McCracken County clerk's office could be discussed at the county's fiscal court meeting tonight. Commissioner Zana Renfro says it's not the fiscal court's business to discuss Clerk Jeff Jerrell's policies. Commissioner Jerry Beyer says though the court has no authority over the clerk's office, Jerrell should answer questions in a public forum because it concerns taxpayers. Judge Executive Van Newberry tells the Paducah Sun he feels obligated to investigate complaints about any county office and that public attention may result in voluntary policy changes. The controversial policies concern the amount of paid holiday and vacation time granted to Clerk's office employees.
