Western Kentucky – Participants in the Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) can purchase goods from some area farmers markets. In an effort to encourage buying local, the Kentucky Department for Public Health urges WIC members to take advantage of the annual Farmers Market Nutrition Program. In our area, WIC farmers market vouchers are distributed through the Trigg, Hopkins and Daviess (Davis) county health departments. The vouchers are redeemable at 46 participating farmers markets across Kentucky, including the Trigg County Farmers Market in Cadiz, the Madisonville market on East Arch Street, and the farmers market in Downtown Dawson Springs. The farmers market program continues through the end of September.
