Owensboro, KY – A program to train people for skill-trade jobs in heating, insulating and plumbing will begin this month in Owensboro. The Messenger-Inquirer reports the Green River Pre-Apprenticeship Program begins June 21 at Owensboro Community and Technical College. It will also be offered at Henderson Community College beginning on July 1. The training is designed for low-income, nonworking adults and is free to those who qualify. The program is funded by a $250,000 federal stimulus grant.
