Clarksville, TN – Montgomery County yesterday passed its spending plan for the next fiscal year that begins next month. The $305 million budget includes no tax increases and boosts county employees' salaries by two percent. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports this was the first time in many years commissioners passed a budget before the first of July. Other new items in the budget include establishing a Parks and Recreation Department and adding a position at the county's Building and Codes Department.
