Clarksville, TN – Road consultants meeting with a group of Clarksville, Tennessee residents and city planners yesterday discussed ideas on downtown streetscapes. The discussion was part of a traffic study focusing on parking and pedestrian connectivity. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports consultants honed in on Riverside Drive, calling it the city's "most disappointing street." The thoroughfare parallels businesses and the Cumberland River. One major consideration is to add a grassy curbed median lined with trees. Planners expect the median would work to slow down traffic, meaning businesses could potentially attract more customers and make the road accommodate a higher volume of vehicles at one time.
