Murray, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear isn't weighing in on the upcoming race to unseat Republican David Williams from his post as Senate President.
"I don't get involved in those kinds of things. I let the legislature do their thing. I have my hands full just balancing the budget and getting us (the Commonwealth) through this recession."
Louisville Senator Julie Denton is seeking to unseat Williams, who has held the post since 2000. Denton was first elected to the Senate in 1995, she faces democrat Rick Hiles in the November General Election. Beshear made the remarks today (Thursday) at an economic development announcement in Murray.
