Frankfort, KY – The Kentucky Supreme Court has denied a request to hear a Trigg County alcohol case. At issue is whether the Montgomery precinct can hold an alcohol referendum following last September's vote that lifted prohibition in the county. The Alcoholic Beverage Control board and the Kentucky Board of Elections have conflicting standards on the vote. The attorney for pro-alcohol group Grow Trigg had filed a motion to bypass the court of appeals and send the case to the Supreme Court. Attorney W. E. Rogers tells the Kentucky New Era the litigation will now likely take several years.
