Nashville, TN – Governor Phil Bredesen is reviewing the final version of the state's $30 billion annual spending plan passed by lawmakers, but may exercise a pair of line-item vetoes. Bredesen has specific concerns over the Legislature's decision to keep open two prisons that will cost the state about $22 million. The Green Valley Developmental Center in Greenville and the Whiteville Correctional Facility in Hardeman County employ over 500 people.
