Frankfort, KY – Records from the Federal Election Commission and the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance show incoming Kentucky Democratic Party Chairman Daniel Logsdon gave $500 to U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell's re-election campaign in 2005 and $1,000 to former Governor Ernie Fletcher in 2007. He also gave $250 to Republican Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer's re-election campaign in 2007.
Logsdon told the Lexington Herald-Leader the contributions were made while he was in a former private-sector job with Windstream Communications. Democratic Governor Steve Beshear says he was aware that Logsdon had given to candidates of both parties when he recommended him as Democratic Party chairman last week.
