Paducah, KY – Paducah city commissioners approved two separate ordinances that establish an understanding to provide economic development incentives with two companies located there. Wholesale distributor H.T. Hackney and Paducah and Louisville Railway both have deals worked out with the city. The plan is to offset utility extension and permit costs for H.T. Hackney and rebate property taxes for five years as the company builds a new facility and plans to hire between 25 and 40 new employees. P and L plans to construct a building downtown, relocating the current headquarters on Kentucky Avenue. The city plans to provide a grant that will pay for relocating underground utilities near the headquarters in exchange for property that will become part of Paducah's greenway trail.
