Paducah, KY – Liquidating and demolishing Paducah's Executive Inn will cost the city $217,000. That's the lowest bid the city received after opening bidding yesterday to 16 contractors from nine states. City officials are pleased with the price tag. Building Inspector Joel Scarbrough tells the Paducah Sun architects had estimated the price at $1 million and says contractors told him the city was offering the job at time when companies that specialize in large demolitions don't have much work. The low-bid is a joint venture of Youngblood Excavating in Mayfield and Texas-based P-R-C Environmental. Scarbrough says if the bid passes evaluation, it will take until the end of next month for city commissioners to approve a contract.
