Murray, KY – Kentucky's jobless rate fell from 10.6% to 10.4 last month. Analysts indicate five of 11 major job sectors reported increases in employment across the state. Tennessee saw a half-percent drop at 9.9% last month, down from 10.4. In Montgomery County unemployment spiked in May by 1.7% over April's rate, pushing it out of Tennessee's top 10 counties with the lowest jobless percentages. The spike may have been caused by last months flooding of the Cumberland River which left hundreds of people temporarily unemployed.
