Local counties get recycling, hazardous waste grant

Murray, KY – Four local counties will soon benefit from grants to aid with recycling and hazardous waste removal. Kentucky Governor Steve announced today the 48 grants from the Kentucky Pride Fund, administered by the Energy and Environment Cabinet's Division of Waste Management. Among those recycling programs chosen were McCracken County receiving 86-thousand, Hopkinsville-Christian County getting 26-thousand, Madisonville-Hopkins County with 62-thousand and Ballard County with over 96-thousand-dollars in funding. The grants hinge upon a 25 percent local match from the recipient counties.
