Nashville, TN – Tennessee is one of the last states to begin a federal rebate program to promote energy efficiency. The Tennessean newspaper reports the state will soon give rebates to people who purchase energy-efficient air conditioning and heating equipment. The state plans to begin its $5.9 million rebate program in the next few weeks with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy. Purchases dating from April 22 are eligible.
