Madisonville, KY – Madisonville is just one of 48 Kentucky cities and counties receiving state money to increase their recycling services. The city recycling center received a 62-thousand-dollar grant from the Kentucky Pride Fund. 25 percent of the grant must come from a city match fund. Madisonville Community Development Director says they hope to be fully operational by August. The city aims to increase the amount of plastic, paper, cardboard and other recyclables by a total of over 600 tons by next June. As of now, the expanded recycling plan does not include curb-side pick up.
