Tennessee Unemployment Drops Slightly

Tennessee – Tennessee unemployment has dropped slightly, down a tenth of a point from April to 10.4 percent in May. Henry County's jobless rate is more than one percent higher than the state average. Unemployed Henry County residents total 1,570 out of a workforce of 13,530. The county's 11.6 percent unemployment is an improvement from the 12.5 percent April rate. Unemployment rates dropped in surrounding counties from April to May. Stewart County fell four tenths of a point to 11.3 percent, Carroll County dropped four tenths to 15.3 percent and Weakley County dropped six tenths to 10.8 percent.
