Clarksville, TN – Clarksville's $72 million budget is expected to pass with little controversy after council members approved a first reading last week. The budget includes a pay raise for employees, no added taxes and almost $3 million for projects like a new airport terminal. It also includes buying Apple iPads for each of the 12 council members in an effort to become a paperless institution. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports the portable devices would eliminate hundreds of pages of documents provided at each Council meeting and save the city clerk from hours of copying, collating and assembling pages in binders.
