Frankfort, KY – People who violate domestic violence orders in Kentucky could be required to wear ankle monitors under one of more than 200 new laws taking effect July 15th. Judges would require GPS monitors in cases involving people who have violated domestic violence orders, allowing authorities to keep electronic tabs on them. Among the more contentious laws, motorists are banned from texting while driving and felony rape charges are allowed against prison guards who have consensual sex with inmates. Others designate the Corvette as the state's official sports car and allow three free overnight stays at state park lodges for totally disabled military veterans.
