Software to Better Track Sex Offenders Is Coming to Montgomery County

By Todd Hatton

Clarksville, TN – Montgomery County, Tennessee Sheriff's Investigators are getting training on software that helps locate sex offenders who have left their jurisdictions without notifying police. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to provide the Registered Sex Offender Locator Tool (ReSOLT) to a handful of Tennessee law enforcement agencies free of charge for two years.
The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle software has extensive mapping features and other tools that will help oversee the registration of 144 sex offenders in Montgomery County. The software compares national databases to local databases, checking the offender's name, address and employment. Authorities are sent an alert if there are inconsistencies.
