Mayfield, KY – Kentucky State Police say their campaign against inattentive drivers is gaining momentum. The effort will continue through Labor Day weekend and will include more than a thousand safety checkpoints. State police commissioner Rodney Brewer says the initiative aims to reduce highway crashes. State Police have already conducted almost 400 safety checkpoints across the Commonwealth. The effort has netted 176 DUI arrests, 715 seat-belt citations, 68 drug arrests, and the recovery of one stolen vehicle.
