Paducah, Ky. – The Tennessee Valley Authority is still searching for the root cause of an electrical fire last night at Shawnee Fossil Plant northwest of Paducah. Employees discovered flames shortly before 8 PM. The TVA fire brigade extinguished the blaze while West McCracken County and Paducah fire squads arrived on the scene. TVA spokesman Scott Brooks says, three turbines remain offline today, with seven still operational. He says they've received no reports of power outages following the fire. Other plants in the TVA system will take up the power producing load until the turbines can be restored.
