AT&T: 3G Coming by Summer's End

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – AT&T wireless plans to have a 3G data network established in west Kentucky by the end of summer. WPSD-TV reports 300 cell towers are being updated across the state, including four new towers in Paducah designed to triple the coverage area there. Many area customers are noticing dropped calls and fluctuating signal strength as maintenance continues. AT&T declines to specify a date for when the new signal will replace the outdated and significantly slower Edge network. Meanwhile, Verizon users have been enjoying faster mobile speeds on their 3G signal for some time now.
