Nashville, TN – Tennessee Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike McWherter is denouncing the federal government's lawsuit against Arizona's tough new immigration law.
McWherter, the only Democrat running to succeed term-limited Governor Phil Bredesen, says Arizona's law became necessary because of what he calls Washington's total failure to deal with the real problem. McWherter is the son of former Governor Ned McWherter.
The three main Republicans seeking their party's nomination for governor have all have spoken in support of the Arizona law. Early voting for the August 5th primary begins next week.
