Elkton, KY – A fire completely destroyed the Todd County Funeral Home last night. The blaze apparently began in a storage closet and spread upwards in a chimney effect. Elkton Fire Chief Barrin Cole tells the Kentucky New Era he suspects a light in the building, known to repeatedly trip the circuit breaker, caused the fire. No one was injured and nearby residents were able to rescue a piano and other furniture from the first floor. Cole says the building is a total loss.
