Mayfield, KY – Mayfield-based West Kentucky Allied Services is among 23 community action agencies across the Commonwealth that now has access to $4 million in federal funding. The money is allocated to help low-income families and the elderly pay for increased energy costs. The program opens eligibility today and will help mitigate energy bills after last month's heat wave. Mayfield's Director Tony Dowdy tells the Paducah Sun he expects big crowds at his office.
