Metropolis, IL – Contract negotiations for a Metropolis city employee might lead to a lawsuit. Economic Development Officer Andy Clark claims his role in creating the Massac County-Metropolis Port District and establishing a two-hour weekly gymnastics session at the city's Community Center warrants incentive pay. Mayor Billy McDaniel says some aldermen disagree. McDaniel explains his thoughts on the possible lawsuit.
"Anytime there's a negotiation on a contact, if it's something like that, I'm sure litigation is something they do, that's something I don't believe Mr. Clark will do."
Currently Clark's contract specifies an $80,000 annual income with up to $20,000 in incentive bonuses. The Metropolis City Council meets tonight and will likely discuss Clark's Contract. Mayor McDaniel says he plans to vote in favor of Clark's incentive pay.
