Paris Landing, TN – An amateur boxing tournament slated to come to Paris Landing won't be coming after all. Henry County Alliance Chairman Carl Holder says when they received the contract from Southern Boys Boxing, it included points where the venue and the alliance did not agree. A spokesman from the boxing agency says they expected the venue to be free of charge, and that Henry County was outbid for the tournament. Carl Holder says during negotiations he was not made aware of a fee waiver for the venue. Alliance officials expected the USA Boxing sponsored event to bring between 900 to 1,000 boxers to the area.
