Frankfort, KY – State Senate President David Williams has a quarter century experience in the Kentucky legislature. From time to time, his name is mentioned as a potential candidate for governor. Most recent speculation pairs Williams and former U-K basketball star and current Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer on a gubernatorial ticket. Williams was asked about a Williams-Farmer slate during an appearance in Lexington Monday.
"Well we both have eligibility left, well we don't know if we will be playing in this game or not."
Williams says he's bolstered by the encouragement he and Farmer have received to run as a team. Keeping things low-key, Williams says he hopes the two can work together in some capacity to improve Kentucky.
