Frankfort, KY – Democrat Jack Conway's campaign says the Senate candidate has raised almost one and a half million dollars during the three-month period ending in June. Conway's fundraising includes about $400,000 in loans from the candidate. Republican Rand Paul raised just over a million dollars during the quarter.
Meanwhile, a key strategist for Paul says he's leaving to become campaign manager for an unnamed gubernatorial ticket. David Adams says his departure does not reflect any conflicts in the Paul campaign. Adams was replaced as Paul's campaign manager a week after a round of interviews in which Paul dismayed fellow Republicans with his views on racial segregation.
