Kentucky Soldier Dies in Afghanistan

Fort Campbell, KY – Two Fort Campbell soldiers have died in Afghanistan since Saturday. 20-year-old Private First Class Nathaniel Garvin of Radcliff, Kentucky died Monday at Kandahar, Afghanistan from a non-combat incident. The military has not yet released details on the incident. Garvin was in the 96th Aviation Support Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division.

40-year-old Specialist Carlos Negron, of Fort Meyers, Florida, died Saturday at Asadabad, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with rifle and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 426th Forward Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.
