Paducah, KY – The city of Paducah will apply for a half-million dollar grant to restore the steam locomotive in its historic district. The city would pay $100,000 toward the project to fully restore the exterior of Steam Locomotive 1518, its baggage car, mail car and caboose. The train cars sit near the Carson Four Rivers Center along the Paducah floodwall. The city also plans to move the train tomorrow about 3 feet to make the floodwall's newest mural more visible.
