Metropolis, IL – A woman swimming the length of the Ohio River is nearing the end of her journey. Mimi Hughes of Taft, Tennessee, arrives in Metropolis this afternoon. She began in Pittsburgh in May. The 54-year-old mother of four ends her swim Saturday in Cairo. Hughes says she is swimming the Ohio as a fundraiser for non-profit group Women Across the World.
