Clarksville, TN – A Clarksville CPA firm is conducting an independent audit of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Airport Authority, following a directive from the Tennessee state comptroller. The Outlaw Field office manager resigned in June after city auditors uncovered possible fraud. The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle reports the airport was missing 24 receipts totaling more than 25-hundred dollars. The report also uncovered instances of un-bid contracts and hiring that violated Clarksville's nepotism policy. In 2009, an independent audit found a lack of oversight at the airport, but officials say suggestions for change were ignored.
