Paducah, KY – McCracken County school officials plan to advertise open bidding for the construction of the $56 million consolidated high school beginning mid-next month. The board of education's recent approval of the school's final architectural plans means the project moves ahead, but still awaits an official state education department review. The Paducah Sun reports school officials plan to open bids in mid-September and expect construction to begin in October. The new school should open by the beginning of the fall 2012 academic year.
