Murray, KY – Healthcare and Energy policy were among some of the issues constituents brought up to First District Congressman Ed Whitfield this afternoon. Almost 5,000 callers from most of the district participated in two tele-town hall conferences with the Republican lawmaker. A man from Paducah expressed his concerns regarding immigration policy. Whitfield had this to say.
"As you know in Arizona, they're really trying to strengthen their law so that they can arrest illegal immigrants and deport them back to their country. As you know, the department of justice, in the Obama administration, have filed a lawsuit to challenge that law. And a group of us in congress, we're going to be filing a brief to support Arizona in its effort."
Other caller concerns included health care, unemployment and energy sources throughout the state.
