Montgomery County Refines Dangerous Dog Procedure

By Chris Taylor

Clarksville, TN – Montgomery County commissioners have changed the procedure of dealing with aggressive dogs. When a dog bites or attacks someone or another animal, it will be put on the county's dangerous dog list after an Animal Control investigation. Owners can then appeal to have their dog removed from the list. They can also comply with rules and have their dog removed after a year and a half of good behavior. If conditions aren't met, the dog could be seized and euthanized. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports the previous procedure listed the dogs on a separate "potentially dangerous" list.
