Smithland, KY – Drivers can expect at least 5 minute delays on the US-60 Cumberland River Bridge at Smithland as contractors switch traffic flow to facilitate restoration work. Workers will be shifting traffic lanes overnight tonight which could bring added delays. The work requires a limit on vehicle width as well. Police have been on site to enforce width restrictions of vehicles over 10 feet wide between 6 in the morning and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. At all other times vehicle width is restricted to 7-and-a-half feet. Wider vehicles traveling between Paducah and Marion will detour via a marked route on US-62 and US-641 through Eddyville. Contractors expect the work to be completed by mid-August.
