Two candidates vying for the Tennessee GOP nomination to replace retiring Democratic Representative John Tanner have supported much of their campaign from their personal budget. Memphis doctor George Flinn put 2-million-dollars into his campaign after raising 220-thousand dollars from outside sources. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports Ron Kirkland has raised about 1 million, a fourth of which, he provided. The Tennessee primary election is August 5th. There are five republicans running in the primary and 9 total candidates.
