Volunteers seek $200,000 for library

By Rebecca Feldhaus

Livingston County, KY – The Livingston, County Friends of the Library organization has a year to raise almost 200-thousand-dollars for books, CDs and DVDs. Judge Executive Chris Lasher says construction of the county's new library is ahead of schedule. 1st District Congressman Ed Whitfield secured a 190-thousand-dollar grant for the building. The library volunteer organization must stock the library. The group expects each book to cost 15 to 20 dollars after security tags. So far they have raised a little more than 1 percent of their 200-thousand dollar goal.
