Hopkinsville, Ky. and Clarksvillle, Tenn. – Hopkinsville Community College and Austin Peay State University are gearing up to offer joint green occupation training thanks to a State Energy Sector Partnership grant. The Kentucky Workforce Investment Board has awarded the $1.2 million for the associate of chemical engineering technology degree program. The degree pathway will be a "1+1" program where students will complete 33 credit hours at HCC then transfer to APSU to complete the remaining 30 credit hours. HCC President Dr. Jim Selbe says funds from the grant can cover tuition, books and specialized tutoring for a large number of students who qualify for the program.
