Summer Festival Enters Second Year With "New Look"

By Angela Hatton

Paducah, KY – The long-running Paducah Summer Festival begins today in downtown Paducah. Parks and Recreation Superintendent and Festival Vice Chair Trace Stevens says this is the second year activities will take place on the front lawn of the Carson Center, rather than at the foot of Broadway.

"We've over the last couple of years really tried to change up the festival, moved it to a new location, kind of started bringing in new genres of music. I think tonight they should be excited about hearing a bunch of home-grown local acts that have a local following as well as some national exposure."

Activities begin at five, including music, food, and games. The festival ends Saturday night with fireworks over the riverfront. All events are free to the public. For a full schedule, visit the Summer Festival on Facebook.
