Springville, Tenn. – Sandy Beach, Tennessee residents are a little bit closer to having access to water from the Springville Utility District in Henry County. $500,000 in emergency assistance funds will help make the project possible. The funds are part of a loan-grant program of about $3.5 million announced yesterday from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Delta Regional Authority. The funds are for projects to soon supply safe, reliable drinking water to homes and businesses in Springville and the surrounding areas. Springville Utility District president and chairman Amon Evans says the water supply in the southeastern part of the county is highly mineralized.
