Hopkins County, KY – Amanda's Law is now in effect but due to a lack of state funding, is at a standstill. The law requires the satellite tracking of some individuals in state domestic violence cases. Hopkins County Judge Executive Donnie Carroll says many county courts have not allotted the funding to cover the technology.
"As it comes out of the state courts, circuit or district court, we think that those should be the courts that support this and supply the funding."
It's not yet clear where the funding for the technology will come from. Legislators proposed the bill after former state employee Amanda Ross was fatally shot outside her Lexington home.
