Paducah, Ky. – An older but little-used generator salvaged from the Executive Inn will be converted to a mobile unit. The 24-year-old, 200-kilowatt machine will be mounted on a trailer and used to power a building or special event. Paducah City Engineer and Public Works Director Rick Murphy says, the generator has only run for 236 hours during its lifespan. Officials had planned to use the generator to back up power at the city's public works garage, but scrapped the plan after finding it would only cost $14,000 more to buy and install a new unit.
