Fancy Farm, KY – The political chairman of the Fancy Farm Picnic is dispelling rumors that former president Bill Clinton and Sarah Palin will attend the Graves County event. Mark Wilson says Palin has publically supported Rand Paul for US Senate. Clinton's office has confirmed he will be in Kentucky sometime in August. Wilson says rumors about who's going to show up at Fancy Farm are common.
"We have not issued a formal invite to anybody of national stature, but with that I'd also say, I mean, if we had a formal request by somebody such as y'know, either one of them, or somebody else of their notoriety, I mean, we would definitely have to be open-minded, take a look at it."
A detailed security sweep would be necessary before someone like Clinton or Palin could attend. Wilson doesn't believe there is enough time to make that happen. The 130th Fancy Farm Picnic begins in eight days.
