Frankfort, KY – Kentucky's Democratic Governor is about to get some Republican competition as he runs for re-election in 2011. A news conference is planned in Lexington this afternoon to announce a GOP gubernatorial ticket. Political consultant David Adams will manage the campaign featuring two men who might be strangers to most Kentuckians. Adams says the newly formed Republican ticket for governor reflects tea party principles of smaller, more transparent government. Some well-known Kentucky republicans are also considering the governor's race next year. Senate president David Williams is widely expected to launch a bid with Ag commissioner Richie Farmer as his possible running-mate.
