Clarksville, TN – Clarksville, Tennessee is annexing a property at the request of Mayor Johnny Piper who's under contract with partners to purchase it. City Council members yesterday approved the annexation in a special-called meeting. Piper and his partners plan to build middle-income housing on the property, which is nearby the future site of the Hemlock Semiconductor plant. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports no council members questioned the move's propriety and Councilman Marc Harris is the only member to oppose the vote.
